Emily Zumwinkle makes PWHL Debut for Seattle Torrent at Climate Pledge Arena

April 25, 2026 — Seattle, WA

Seattle Torrent Defender Emily Zumwinkle made her Professional Women’s Hockey League debut versus the playoff bound Montréal Victoire in the last game of the regular season in front of a SOLD OUT 17,151 at Climate Pledge Arena in a pivotal GOLD PLAN game which would allow Seattle to earn more points in their quest towards the #1 overall pick in the 2026 PWHL Entry Draft.

The graduate of The Ohio State University is a native of Excelsior, Minnesota. Emily was a training camp invite for the Torrent and was signed as a reserve player winning a spot after the inaugural Seattle Torrent training camp.

Emily joins her sister Grace as the first pair of siblings to play in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. Grace is a two-time PWHL Walter Cup Champion with the Minnesota Frost and has qualified for the 2025-26 Walter Cup Playoffs.
