Utah 2034 Education Committee welcomes IOC President Kirsty Coventry to Salt Lake City

IOC President Kirsty Coventry made a special visit to Utah, in part because of the incredible momentum and impact being driven by Champion Schools 34 and the work of the UTAH 2034 Education Committee.
President Coventry attended a special Champion Schools 34 Opening Ceremony assembly with members of the Utah 2034 Education Committee at this unique occasion at Washington Elementary – Salt Lake City School District, 420 N 200 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84103.
President Coventry's role during this assembly was focused primarily on the students, UTAH 2034 + Champion Schools 34 hosted her at a private lunch event and at a reception in the evening at Rice-Eccles Stadium, where there was a greater opportunity to meet and visit with her.
This visit is a meaningful moment for the Utah 2034 Education Committee, Champion Schools 34, Ken Garff for Good, and most importantly, the students we are working together to inspire.

The Organizing Committee for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games announced the formation of its Utah 2034 Education Committee. The 16-person advisory committee brings together leaders from education, business, nonprofit, and sport who share a commitment to empowering Utah’s next generation.
The committee will provide strategic guidance, foster partnerships, and develop statewide initiatives that connect students and educators to the opportunities created along the road to 2034. Its mission includes the launch of a statewide classroom education program.
“A key vision point for Utah 2034 is to elevate communities,” said Utah 2034 President and Executive Chair Fraser Bullock. “Our Utah 2034 Education Committee brings together a diverse group of leaders who can guide us in impacting youth through classroom programs across the entire state, serving as a model for others to showcase the power of education and sport.”
One of the key missions of the Education Committee is to oversee a statewide education strategy that uses the excitement and values of the Olympic and Paralympic movement to strengthen student literacy, increase school attendance, and track measurable student outcomes.
AGM client SYDNEY PETERSON from the U.S. Para Nordic and U.S. Para Triathlon team is a member of the UTAH 2034 Education Committee that was formed in the Summer of 2026. Sydney is currently a Ph.D student at the University of Utah in Neuroscience while training for her upcoming competition season(s) with a goal toward the completion of her program ahead of French Alps 2030.
