PWHL Walter Cup Champion, Dominique Petrie suffers lower body injury and is out for the rest of the 2025-26 season

Dominique Petrie of the Minnesota Frost suffered a lower body injury on January 4, 2026 in a game versus the Victoire de Montrèal at Place Bell in Verdun, Quebec, Canada that will end her 2025-26 campaign.

Dominique had successful surgery performed by Los Angeles Kings Team Physician, Dr Alexander Weber in Los Angeles on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Per the PWHL Collective Bargaining Agreement, the athlete has the opportunity to select their physician for surgery. She will balance her rehabilitation in Southern California and the Twin Cities under supervision of the Frost medical team and the care plan prescribed by Dr Weber.

She will be back for training camp and resumption of play for the 2026-27 PWHL season.
