Sydney Peterson picks up 3rd FIS Para Cross Country World Cup medal in Finsterau

For the third consecutive race, Team USA Para Nordic Cross Country skier, Sydney Peterson picked up a Bronze medal completing the set (Gold, Silver, Bronze) at the 2026 FIS Para Cross Country World Cup in Finsterau, Bayern, Germany in the 1.5km Sprint race on January 16, 2026.

Para Cross Country and Para Biathlon move next to Poland. The Para Biathlon event overseen by the International Biathlon Union will be Sydney's debut World Cup event and will then conclude with a FIS Para Cross Country event at the same location.

Sydney is a native of Lake Elmo, Minnesota, a graduate of St Lawrence University in Canton, NY and a current joint Masters - PhD student at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

These events serve as a qualifier towards the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games in Italy.
