Team Canada Women’s Hockey team touches down in Italy, heads to Switzerland ahead of Milano Cortina 2026
January 30, 2026 - Lugano, Switzerland - Team Canada Women’s Hockey Team departed from Montréal on January 29th after the conclusion of PWHL action and the team made its way to Milan Malpensa (MXP) on Air Canada flight 894 and bussed to Lugano. The flight also included other Canadian Olympic athletes.
The squad had the opportunity to get outside and take in the beautiful scenery around Lake Lugano before training resumes while getting on to the European time zone which is 6 hours different than EST. Lugano is 48 miles north of Milan.
Before the team left Montréal, Air Canada had a surprise with a proper send off of cheering fans all the way to the plane.
